The Lourensford Harvest Market Re-opens
We were really keen to visit the Lourensford Harvest Market in Somerset West a few months back, but then something terrible happened. There was a huge storm and the market space got ruined. This was not all bad news though as the organisers of the market saw this as an opportunity for improvements and updates. The market space is now more sheltered from the elements, which means that browsing the stalls and enjoying your superb market fare can now be done without interference of the howling summer South-Easter or chilly winter drizzle.

The market is laid-out in a U-shape with most of the craft and fashion stalls near the entrance and the food stalls on the far side of the market. There is plenty of seating in the centre of the U-shape as well as some comfortable couches under umbrellas. This is also where the band of the day plays and where most of the gathering happens.
The market is dog-friendly which makes for a great day out for the whole family. The kids will especially have a great time on the jumping castles, getting their faces painted and then proudly walking around with their own lovely balloon creatures. There is a lot of space for them to run around and have a good time. The bathrooms are located near the art gallery and are not a far walk from the market. For the adults, if you need cash, there is also an ATM just a few meters away.
