Swap Malls for Markets, and shop Local!
Christmas… Sleigh bells ringing, snowflakes falling, nativity scenes, ice sculptures. Not quite! But at The Linden Market Christmas Edition we celebrate our summer Christmas, the sunshine and holiday season in a truly South African way! TLM Christmas edition will delight with an array of original gift ideas and other novelties; quality local handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, accessories, stocking fillers, mouthwatering food and delicious drinks, to quench your summer thirst. Assorted items in the yellow dot sale range will have a 20% discount. You can also buy your discounted two-day pass, so why not skip the busy malls and bring the family to enjoy your Christmas shopping experience. The Linden Market will celebrate the season with Carols in the Garden between 13:00-14:00 every day on 30 November and 1 December at the home of TLM, The Botanical Gardens, Emmarentia. Take a break from your shopping in the heat of the day and come and join in the festive sounds of Christmas Carols, situated in the shaded area by Date-a-Dog. There you can enjoy crisp, cold bubbly and gin as well as tasty delicacies, or relax at the mobile spa. In the spirit of the festivities, there will be a cookie making workshop. Spend some quality time with the kids and make your own creative Christmas cookies to enjoy, or perhaps give away as personalised gifts. The TLM Lineup promises to kick the holiday season off with a bang. You can look forward to the likes of Rubber Duc, Georgetown band, Jack and June and Brother Brother, all the way from Cape Town. Benji & Moon, Date-a-Dog with CLAW will once again bring their gorgeous dogs to spend the day at TLM… take a homeless puppy for a walk through the gardens, to raise awareness around the “adopt don’t shop” mentality, especially during the festive season. While Mom shops and Dad enjoys a cold one, the kids will be entertained by Father Christmas on stilts, a jumping castle, slime-making (eeuw, but they love it), canvas painting and face painting. Bring your family, friends, acquaintances or even your colleagues for a year-end celebration and enjoy the truly magical atmosphere, making for unforgettable shared moments.
